In the News!... Lee Memorial Health Systems Awards Dr. Sagini as "Physician of the Month"

Dennis Sagini, MD (www.saginimd.com), an orthopedic surgeon with Joint Implant Surgeons of Florida was recently awarded as the “Physician of the Month” for July 2015 by Lee Memorial Health Systems. He was chosen based on nominations from employees, volunteers, and other physicians on staff. According to the nominations, Dr. Sagini met the highest level of criteria for this past month’s award, including consistent quality, attitude, professionalism, compassion, and going “above and beyond” what is reasonably expected. Lee Memorial Health System uses this award to recognize physicians who exemplify these qualities of excellence.

Dr. Sagini was awarded with a plaque from the staff and Administration of Lee Memorial Health Systems, which stated the following acknowledgement: “This month we salute Dr. Sagini for exemplifying the qualities of an excellent physician and we are privileged to have had Dr. Sagini as a respected member of our medical staff since September 2008.”

“This recognition award came as an unexpected surprise, and I am truly honored to receive this acknowledgement,” said Dr. Sagini. “We have such a wonderful team here at Lee Memorial, which I am grateful to be a part of. As always, I will continue to do my best to provide the absolute highest level of patient care, and to treat my fellow physicians, assistants, and administrative staff with the upmost respect and professionalism.”

Dr. Sagini has also been the recipient of other highly commendable awards, such as the “Patient’s Choice” award for “Compassionate Doctor”. This award is part of the Patients' Choice recognition program, in which patients rate and vote for their favorite doctors. Each year, patients across the U.S. provide feedback about their experiences with physicians on websites such as Vitals, UCompareHealthCare, and Patients' Choice.

Only physicians who have received near perfect overall and bedside manner scores, as voted by their patients, are selected for the Compassionate Doctor recognition. Of the nation's 870,000 active physicians in one year, only 3% were accorded this honor.
