Fort Myers Hand Surgeon, Dr. Dennis Sagini, Awarded for Compassion

Patients' Choice announced that Fort Myers Hand Surgeon, Dr. Dennis Sagini of Joint Implant Surgeons was recently awarded the Compassionate Doctor Certification. Sagini was one of a select few physicians voted by patients to receive this prestigious award. Information about Dr. Sagini, his Medical Missions, and patient reviews, can be found on http://www.saginimd.com.

The Compassionate Doctor certification is part of the Patients' Choice recognition program, where patients rate and vote for their favorite doctors. Each year, patients across the U.S. provide feedback about their experiences with physicians on websites such as Vitals, UCompareHealthCare, and Patients' Choice.

Only physicians who have received near perfect overall and bedside manner scores, as voted by their patients, are selected for the Compassionate Doctor recognition. Of the nation's 870,000 active physicians, only 3% were accorded this honor in the past year.

In response to this recognition, Dr. Dennis Sagini commented, "This is quite an honor for me. I am very pleased to have been selected and grateful to my patients who went out of their way to rate me and give me positive reviews."

In addition to the Patients’ Choice award, Dr. Sagini also received a Certificate of Appreciation for his participation in the “We Care” program through the Salvation Army. The mission of “We Care” is: “To provide help to those individuals who are in need of specialty medical care, and give them hope and a future for themselves and their families.”

Dr. Sagini not only shows compassion to his patients and those in need locally, he also extends this compassion and care to those around the world who would not otherwise have proper medical treatment available to them. In June of 2012, Dr. Sagini traveled to Ethiopia to perform orthopedic surgeries on children at a local pediatric hospital. Prior to that, he traveled to Eritrea, Africa in August of 2006, and to Nigeria, Africa in both April and December of 2007. During these mission trips, he performed orthopedic surgeries on children and adults with birth defects and other deformities.
